More for the freezer. Breakfast sandwiches today. Dh has been buying frozen egg sandwiches, you know the ones with an ingredient list longer than I care to think of and though they keep the price down, I know I can make yummier and cheaper ones.
I got an extra dozen eggs, some whole wheat (yuck) english muffins, and set to work. Some have ham, some have turkey pepperoni. I didn’t even forget the salt and pepper, which normally I’d forget! DH likes fried eggs but I really didn’t want to make the eggs one at a time in order to make many sandwiches. I was wishing I had metal rings for making the fried eggs and then I remembered! Canning lids! As you can see the eggs seeped out from under the rings but for the most part they held things nicely.
I’ll have to set these rings aside, maybe even throw them out, so I don’t use them for canning as the metal roll on the ring will have some egg residue that I can’t be certain will come out. I’ll need to save the cans from tuna for future use.
